The Qwiery REST service is based on NodeJS so turning it into a custom NodeJS application shouldn’t be a problem. If however you wish to send async request to Qwiery elsewhere you do like so (based on the Express framework and the request module):

app.use('/askQwiery', function(req, res, next) {
    var request = require('request');
    var options = {
        method: 'POST',
        url: 'http://qwiery.com/lexic/question/',
        headers: {
            "Content-type": "application/json",
            "Accept": "application/json",
            "apiKey": "Anonymous"
        },
        form: {'question': "Lookup the shortest path to Oxford street"}
    };

    function callback(error, response, body) {
        if(!error && response.statusCode == 200) {
            var info = JSON.parse(body);
            console.log(info.Envelope.Output.Answer);
            res.json(info);
        }else{
            res.json(body);
        }
    }

    request(options, callback);
});

Ain’t NodeJS terrific.
